TEACHING STYLE

My goal as a teacher is not to turn my students into professional musicians, but to help them along a journey of discovery. Learning to play any musical instrument takes time, patience, personal reflection, physical effort, discipline, practice, listening skills, mental focus, analytical and creative thinking, an understanding of mathematics, teamwork, a commitment to lifelong learning, and passion. All of these skills are transferable to any professional endeavor and are highly desirable great-making attributes. I work to cultivate and develop these qualities in my students.
