I hold a Bachelor of Music Education (grades K-12) degree and have pursued further training at Kodaly Musical Training Institute. I have taught elementary classroom music and secondary music theory/composition and music history courses. Additionally I have conducted band, choir, handbells, and string ensembles. At Csehy Summer School of Music I taught flute, theory, and conducted handbell choir for weekly concerts. I am an active performer and church musician as well as a board member for my area arts council.
It is extremely important to understand each student and what the student wishes to accomplish. Additionally, an excellent teacher will open the student's awareness to what can be accomplished within the discipline. There are general steps in each area of music study that get students to desired goals, yet every student is unique. As an experienced teacher, I have a wide repertoire of techniques and thorough knowledge of various methods to provide a personalized program. Above all, I strive to carefully listen and observe to discover the most efficient and enjoyable path to musical success.
